11.3.1 Guess the meaning of unfamiliar words by using visual clues when a teacher or

At the end of the lesson, most pupils will be able to listen to the song and identify the

1) At the end of the lesson, some pupils will be able to describe the characters using suitable

PRE-LESSON:

⮚ Play the song once and have pupils listen.

⮚ Play the song a second time and have pupils match each verse to the corresponding
character.
⮚ Explain to pupils that the two children, Greg and Anna, as well as Sharky the Shark are the
new characters of the book.
⮚ When pupils feel comfortable, invite them to sing the song.

LESSON DEVELOPMENT:

SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES
⮚ Hand out flashcards of characters so that each pupil has got one.

⮚ Explain to pupils that, as they listen and sing along to the song, they will have to raise the
flashcards of the characters being described.
Play the CD and have pupils raise the flashcards and sing along. (assessment)

POST LESSON:

1. Distribute blank papers.


2. Describe a character. Pupils listen to the description and draw.
3. Show the correct picture. Pupils compare.
4. Worksheet: Pupils complete exercise 1. (AB page 2 or worksheet 1)
