(1) Do a print-out of the engine hours and cycles and keep the print with the engine for follow-up Ref.
AMM TASK 31-36-00-740-015.
NOTE: This step is only applicable if you do not already have a dedicated procedure to monitor
and record engine hours/cycles.

B. Deactivation of the Air Data Probes
WARNING: BEFORE YOU OPEN THE EIU1(2) CIRCUIT BREAKER(S), OPEN ALL THE PROBE HEATER C
IRCUIT-BREAKERS.
IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS SEQUENCE:
- THE PROBES WILL BECOME TOO HOT.
- THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT AND INJURY TO MAINTENANCE PERSONN
EL.
(1) Do the deactivation of the air data probes for maintenance

C. Open, safety and tag the circuit breaker(s) that follow(s). Use the SAFETY CLIP - CIRCUIT BREAKER as ne
cessary.

4. Procedure

A. Removal of the EEC
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS
AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(1) Disconnect and remove the EEC (1) as follows:
(a) Find the EEC (1) located approximately at the 2 o'clock position attached to the fan case as
sembly. See figure

(b) Disconnect the harness connectors from the EEC (1) with the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT as fol
lows:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE DATA STORAGE UNIT (DSU) REMAINS WITH THE
ENGINE WHEN THE EEC IS REMOVED. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTIO
N AND AN INCORRECT DSU IS INSTALLED, ENGINE OPERATION CAN BE
AFFECTED.
2 Disconnect (WF01) wiring harness connector (P2) from the EEC (1).
3 Disconnect (WF07) wiring harness connector (P8) from the EEC (1).
4 Disconnect (WF02) wiring harness connector (P1) from the EEC (1).
5 Disconnect (WF06) wiring harness connector (P7) from the EEC (1).
6 Disconnect (W03) wiring harness connectors (P4), (P6) and (P14) from the EEC (1).
7 Disconnect (W04) wiring harness connectors (P3), (P5) and (P13) from the EEC (1).
(2) Disconnect the tube (AS01) from the EEC (1).
(3) Remove the EEC (1) as follows. See figure

(a) Removal of the bolts.
CAUTION: DO NOT COMPLETELY REMOVE THE TOP TWO BOLTS. HOLD THE EEC WH
ILE YOU REMOVE THE TOP TWO BOLTS TO PREVENT THE EEC FROM FAL
LING AND CAUSING DAMAGE DURING REMOVAL.
1 Remove the bolt (11) from the ground strap.
(b) Remove the EEC (1) from the EEC support brackets.
(4) Installation of protection covers
