1. Why did you choose this article?

Because I was researching how the caste system affects in point of gender discrimination, I
founded this interesting article.

2. Summary (approximately 130 words in English)

According to Pandey (2022), in India, menstruation has long been taboo. It is shut out and rejected
from social and religious observances. The difficulties faced by the women of India's poorest and
most underdeveloped ethnic groups are extreme. According to their traditional beliefs, these
women must spend their days in huts in the forest. If a man touches them, he too becomes
"unclean.". But in the western Indian state of Maharashtra, the "menstruation huts" where
thousands of tribal women and girls are banished during menstruation are about to be reborn. She
reports that A Mumbai-based charity is seeking to replace the most dilapidated huts, known as
kurma ghar or gaokor, with modern rest facilities with beds, indoor toilets, running water, and
solar panels for electricity.
