Chapter 1

THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

This includes the related literatures and studies. the rationale or purpose of the

study and in the process discusses the GAP of the study.

Conceptual Framework

A conceptual framework is a representation of the relationship you expect to see

between your variables, or the characteristics or properties that you want to study.

Conceptual frameworks can be written or visual and are generally developed based on a

literature review of existing studies about your topic.

Example: Figure 1 contains three important components: Input, Process, and

Output. Input for the quantitative part includes the components of teachers’ instructional

competencies for the basis of how important the instructional competence of teachers is

in the new normal.

Limitation of the study include the weakness of the study beyond the control of the

researcher and it is a phase or aspect of the investigation which may affect the result

adversely but over which the researcher has no control.

Definition of Terms

For a better understanding of the study, the following terms are defined

conceptually and operationally:

Concept. They translate conceptual meanings in concrete terms by setting up the

measuring procedures that established the observable criteria for the systematic

application

of the concepts. (Barnuevo et al., 2010). Cite the references if there’s any.

This chapter presents and discusses technique, instrument, data collection,

statistical treatment, data analysis, and ethical considerations which are being used in

conducting the research.

Research Design

A research design is a strategy for answering your research question using

empirical data. Overview of what stud would look like and how it will be employed.

What particular data are will be gathered? Characteristics of data and research.

Participants/Respondents

The participants of this study played a pivotal role in the development of the

findings of the study; thus, their selection was crucial. The researcher chose the public

elementary school teachers of Candaba West District

Ethical Consideration

Following are the principle that any participant must not be forced to participate

in achieving the objectives of this study, all ethical practices relative to the conduct of the

study will be considered.

First, the participants were assured of the purpose and extent of their participation

through a consent form which was given and explained to them.

Second, a participant who may feel uncomfortable pursuing his or her

participation in the study was free to withdraw at time. This will not be taken against

him or her but the withdrawal will be reported in the reporting of the findings.

Third, the participants have the right to maintain their privacy. Any information

that lead to their identification such as name, contact number, address, and affiliation are

being withheld. Codes were used to conceal their identities.

Fourth, the confidentiality of data was strictly adhered to. No data obtained either

on the questionnaires or the interview guide shall be published unless for the research

study. Discuss the process on acquiring information based on the ethical considerations

such as asking permissions through submitting formal letters, distributing consent forms

(content) and etc.

Statistical Treatment of Data/Data Analysis

Each statistical treatment should be arranged according to the SOP. Each data that

will be gathered should have a statistical treatment. Process of how data will be analyzed.

Coordinate with your statistician.
