Mr. Aijaz Khan (Safety Officer, SP E&C, and Aga Khan Academy) has been named the winner of the
‘Best Safety Officer Award’. The Proud Mr. Khan was handed over the coveted award by Honorable
Minister Shri Danam, Minister of Labor Employment and Factories , at a presentation
ceremony held on August 2, 2012. Mr. Aijaz Khan qualified for this Award in view of his following
Achievements: 1. holds the best academic Record in health, safety and Environmental practices at
the Aga Khan site, with 13 million Safe man-hours to his credit. 2. Ranked ‘First’ in the final Exam
of the OHSA 30 Hour Training Programmer, Conducted by the GEMSTECH Institute of Science and
Technology, Hyderabad. A total of 200 participants had taken part in the final Competitions.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Conducting meetings with vendors.
• Training the juniors and staff on the safety precaution measures.
• Issuing the work permit related to work.
• Responsible for the providing the clearance of the site along with issuance of work permit.
• Maintaining documents as for OCP.
• Gave training on Various session like Electrical, Fire Fighting, Health Hazards working on the
heights, manual handling, Height work, Hot work, Scaffolding , Rigging ,Power tool,
Emergencies evacuation, First aid , hygiene, Mock Drill.
• Took risk assessments and implement appropriate risk control measures.
• Identifying hazards and taking safe control measure.
• Continuously supervision on work to avoid hazards.
