We all know that it is wrong to condemn an innocent human being to murder. Human
life begins at conception, which means that an innocent being would have been killed at any
point of a pregnancy termination. Furthermore, the fetus is a human being who should be
allowed to grow, be born, and live their lives to the utmost extent possible.
Abortion is also wrong because it is wrong to intentionally inflict pain. Whatever method
is used to obtain an abortion causes untold suffering to the developing human before they die.
Abortion is morally unacceptable and should not be legalized. It also carries a danger to the
mother's health. A woman can suffer an infection or internal bleeding. She could also become
sterilized, the permanent inhability to bear a child. Abortion not only kills the baby but may kill
the mother too. During an abortion, despite the use of local anesthesia, 97% of the women
report severe pain, and if a more powerful drug is used she could suffer dangerous side effects.
Some of the side effects a woman is likely to experience after securing an abortion include
bleeding and spotting, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, and cramping and abdominal pain. Worse is
that these side effects can continue occurring two to four weeks after the procedure is
completed (“Possible Physical Side Effects,” 2019). Many complications are common after an
abortion, like inflammation of the reproductive organs.
Abortion increases tolerance of killing and this is a wrong precedence being created for
the human race. Just as Kershnar (2017) warns, to legalize abortion and to view it as being right
is like to legalize killing and see nothing wrong with it. Society should not tolerate killing in
whatever form and should discourage it through every available opportunity.
