1. Why is the Public Relations profession needed today?

(answer) Public relations is becoming increasingly necessary and crucial for
delivering healthy and positive information to the public amidst the
development of communication technologies that are beneficial in
Marketing communications, Business activities and financial
communication, Crisis management, and many more within its scope. PR
must be able to provide information that considers the cultural sensitivity
within the community environment, one of which can steer public opinion
that can create sentiments(dependency on feelings).
2. Does technological development help the PR profession in carrying out its
duties or is technological development one of the challenges that a PR
person must face?
(answer) In the development of technology, public relations creates two
different perspectives. The first perspective is that technology helps
disseminate information quickly. This can be done through websites, social
media, and other online platforms. The second perspective is that once
information spreads widely through social media and other online
platforms, it becomes difficult to control the responses/comments from the
public. Therefore, one must be more cautious in disseminating information
that will be conveyed to the public in the development of technology.
