1. The story takes place on the ISS space station.

2. The narrator discovers Claribel’s presence when he is in his

“office” and he hears a noise he thinks announcements are
coming so he waits and then he hears music and then he
sees Claribel.
3. Sven wanted a pet and he chose Claribel because she was
small, tiny and since she was a bird who could fly she would
be used to the absence of gravity.
4. Claribel passes out because the air purifier in the cabin isn’t
working so there isn’t enough oxygen in the space station for
Claribel.
5. The story starts off by explaining why Sven chose Claribel
the canary as a pet. The reasons why Sven chose Claribel
are scientific curiosity, little food requirements and he
wanted a pet. It then talks about how they had to hide
Claribel from visitors. Then the narrator talks about how he
woke up one morning and Sven wasn’t at breakfast and the
other members told him Sven was looking for Claribel. Sven
then comes in and with Claribel in hand asleep and puts an
oxygen mask over Claribel which revives her, then she hops
out from under the oxygen mask and then dies. Then all the
other group members start to feel fuzzy and they realize that
the oxygen is running out.
