Exercise 2: Mathematics in Arts and Humanities

The objective of this homework is to show symmetry in different art forms. Select one
art form discussed in Chapter 2 (visual arts—drawing, photography, music, dance) and
show how symmetry is seen in the specific art form.

Requirements:

Reflectional The vertical line at the center of
the photo
Rotational A red square rotated by 90
degrees, it appears the same after
rotation.
Glide The blue tiles at the left and right
side, the pre-image is in the same
position after two glide reflections.
Translational All the tiles from side and the
ceiling when relocated to another
position while maintaining its
general or exact orientation.
