Motion Mania: We explored projectile motion today.
Remember, once an object leaves
your hand (or a slingshot!), the only force acting on it is gravity. This means its horizontal motion is constant (unless air resistance is a big factor) while the vertical motion follows the good ol' friend, constant acceleration (g = 9.8 m/s²). Optics Oasis: Today's lecture dipped its toes into the world of lenses. We learned how a convex lens can converge light rays, focusing them to a single point, while a concave lens diverges them. This is why magnifying glasses use convex lenses to create that larger-than-life view! Electricity & Errors: We started diving into circuits this week. Remember, current (I) is the flow of electric charge (measured in Amps), and it likes to travel along a closed loop. Voltage (V) is the push that gets that current flowing, kind of like water pressure in a pipe (measured in Volts). We also learned about the gremlins of circuits - random errors! These can be caused by slight variations in instruments or even environmental jiggles. To minimize their impact, scientists repeat measurements and take an average.
