IS THIS THE DREADED GOODBYE???

Receiving acceptance from the university was undoubtedly our greatest joy, filled with

excitement and anticipation. However, as we embarked on our first day of school, bidding

farewell to our loved ones and embracing a new chapter, we soon realized that university life

was not exactly how it had been portrayed in books and movies.

The initial weeks were a mix of irony and surprise. We had envisioned a carefree and fun-filled

experience, but the reality was quite different. The stress and demands of academic life seemed

to be intentionally hidden from us. Why were we not prepared for the challenges that awaited

us?

Nevertheless, as time went on, we began to adapt and find our place in this new environment.

We formed connections with our roommates and course mates, forging bonds that would

support us throughout our journey. Exploring the campus, we marveled at its breathtaking

scenery, reminding ourselves of the beauty that surrounded us.

Yet, as the months passed, we couldn't help but question if we had chosen the right university.

The party-filled days we had imagined were replaced by a relentless pursuit of knowledge. Our

courses grew increasingly difficult, leaving us wondering why this aspect had been

conveniently omitted from the narratives we had consumed.

But amidst the challenges and unmet expectations, we remained resilient. We recognized that

university life was not solely about parties and leisure; it was about growth, learning, and

pushing ourselves beyond our limits. We embraced the journey, knowing that these trials would

shape us into the individuals we aspired to become."

Oh, Covid-19, the dreaded killer disease that had us all locked down at home for what felt like

an eternity. But when we finally returned to campus and reunited with our friends, all the

academic stress seemed to fade away. We were filled with joy and excitement.
And along the way, some of us discovered a passion for student politics, photography, painting

and many more. Others also found love. It brought us valuable lessons and unforgettable

experiences that will stay with us for a lifetime.

I understand the pain of losing people we started with. May their souls Rest in Perfect Peace.

And may love find and heal all the hearts that have been broken.

But now, as we approach the end of our journey, it's natural to feel a mix of emotions. We've

become accustomed to the academic stress, and our sole focus is on completing school and

going home. But deep down, we don't want to let go. Is this really the dreaded goodbye?

Saying farewell to friends, memories, and experiences is never easy. There's no one-size-fits-

all approach. Some choose heartfelt conversations, others plan memorable gatherings. Some

write letters, while others capture moments in photographs. It's all about finding a way that

feels true to you and allows you to honour those connections and experiences.

Remember, my friend, this is just the end of one chapter. Cherish the memories, carry the

lessons, and embrace the excitement of what lies ahead.

Congratulations my people…
