ESL
Current week
This week we had our first session in the library. We discussed different personality types and what we admire in a friend. We also read about how people
protect the environment.

Next week
Next week we will continue exploring ways to describe people and how to prepare and conduct interviews. There will be fewer lessons due to the holiday on
Monday.

Maths
Current week
This week we started Unit 1 - Number. The students recognised what each digit represented in a number and used expanded notation (partitioning). We had our
first mental arithmatic session where we worked on our times tables.

Next week
Next week we will review place value methods and multiplying and dividing decimals by 10, 100 and 1000. We are then going to start rounding whole numbers
and decimals.

Science
Current week
This we learned about unit 1.1 Life cycle of the flowering plants. Students were able to name the parts of the flowering plants and its functions.

Next week
Next week we will learn about Unit 1.2 Pollination, fruits and seeds. Students will describe how flowering plants reproduce by pollination, fruit and seed
production, and seed dispersal; describe how flowering plants are adapted to attract pollinators and promote seed dispersal.

Global Perspectives
Current week
This week we began our first challenge "How are countries different?". We discussed and explored what makes countries unique.

Next week
Next week we will research people lives in different countries and compare their lives to ours.

ICT
 Current week
This week we continued to study unit 1 in which the students learned about video editing and created their own video about being safe online. In the lesson the
students created a storyboard for their videos and started to collect the main resources they used in thier activity. (videos, images, sound effects etc.)

Next week
This week we will continue our new unit in which the students will learn about video editing and will create their own video about being safe online. In the lesson
the students will access clipchamp and explore the different tools it contains. This will include the timelines, text, images and effects tools. By the end of the
lesson the students will have used some of these tools to create the start of their videos.

HOMEWORK & RAZKIDS

Unfortunately we still do not have renewed access to Razzkids or Mymaths. Students will complete pages 8, 9, 10 and 11 in ESL Workbooks. Students will
complete pages 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 in their Maths Workbooks. Homework tasks are due on Friday 8th September. I am giving them more time due to the
holidays. Some topics in the Workbooks they will cover next week.
