Subject : OBSERVANCE OF HOLIDAYS IN AUGUST

A. Pursuant to the Presidential Proclamation No. 845, Series of 2019 issued by the
President of the Philippines, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, declaring the Regular
Holidays and Special (Non-Working) Days for the year 2020. The following Special
Non-Working holidays shall be acknowledged in MTIM.

SPECIAL NON-WORKING HOLIDAYS:

Ninoy Aquino Day - August 21, 2020, Friday
REGULAR HOLIDAY:
National Heroes Day - August 31, 2020, Monday

B. Pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 1083 otherwise known as “the Code of Muslim
Personnel Laws of the Philippines”, “AMUN JADID” (Islamic New Year) is a
recognized Muslim Legal Holiday. The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos has
announced the date of its celebration which is on August 20, 2020. Under the said
presidential decree, Iligan City is one of the cities mandated to observe Muslim
Holidays.
