“Keys to the Heart” is a South Korean film released in 2018.

The film tells the story of Jo-ha, a

has-been boxer who reconnects with his discordant mother and autistic older brother, Jin-tae. Jo-ha
struggles with his own failures and he reluctantly returns to his hometown after receiving a call from
his mother. From then on, he reunites with his older brother Jin-tae, who is on the autism spectrum
and possesses exceptional musical talent. Despite initial difficulties in understanding and connecting
with Jin-tae, Jo-ha gradually forms a bond with him.
As their relationship deepens, Jo-ha discovers Jin-tae's musical abilities and realizes his brother's
potential. He helps Jin-tae nurture his talent and encourages him to pursue his dreams. In the process,
Jo-ha also rediscovers his own passion for music and confronts his past traumas.

The film describes the challenges faced by Jin-tae, who has autism. It encourages viewers to develop
empathy, acceptance and understanding of those with special needs. It emphasizes the importance of
patience and unconditional love when interacting with people with different abilities. Also, music
plays an important role in the film and serves as a form of therapy and self-expression for Jo-ha and
Jin-tae. It stresses the positive power of the arts and creates other paths in helping those people who
have emotional challenges and find their own talents.

I was totally emotionally invested in their journeys, especially Jintae's experiences as an autistic
person and Jo-ha's personal struggles. Their stories and struggles evoked my empathy
Jintae, who has autism, has changed the lives of many people. Even the actress, who has resisted
playing the piano, is also infected by his enthusiasm for music. I believe that all special children are
the seed that changes society. Children with special education needs are round hearts. Because of their
existence, people's kindness and compassion have the opportunity to be awakened, so that our society
has the opportunity to become better.

This drama teaches me the importance of family members to special learning patients. The main actor
originally lived only by himself in the world, but after getting along with his younger brother, he
gradually became willing to help his younger brother realize his dream. Although the achievement is
not himself, he paid effort for his brother through dedication and care, letting him find the focus of
life. If I have a child who has special needs in the future, I will also put the same effort on him. I
understand every kid is different with their own talents. If we treat them with good care and guide
them in the right direction, they can achieve a satisfactory result.
