APPARATUS
PROCEDURE
a) Do the reconnaissance survey to locate the suitable station for the pipeline passage. To give the different
ratio between each passage, you are recommend to set the passage as figures below. Mark them with
wooden pickets.

b) Choose a bench mark or temporary benchmark to set the early back sight. Make sure the bench mark
or temporary bench mark is clear and fix.
c) Conduct the levelling survey from station P to station S. All readings are taken at the same instrument
position since the station still in sight.
d) After all the readings have been settle, do the fly works to close back to station P.

ANSWER
In this practical task, I quickly realized the significance of selecting an appropriate site. It's
crucial to choose a location that's flat and devoid of any obstructive structures like trees, as
they could interfere with the accuracy of our measurements when using the auto level.
Moreover, I was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly our team completed the task. Each
member demonstrated excellent cooperation, which greatly contributed to our efficiency.
Our familiarity with the instrument, gained from previous leveling exercises, played a
significant role in our success. Consequently, we became the first group to finish the
practical.

CONCLUSION
In this practical task for pipeline construction, we utilized a provided plan to determine excavation
depths and sight rail heights. These calculations ensure precise positioning of the pipeline, avoiding
disruption to existing structures. Depths were found to be 2.000m for point P, 2.004m for point Q,
2.175m for point R, and 2.253m for point S. Prior to excavation, sight rails were installed to guide
workers accurately. Heights were determined as 1m for P, 0.956m for Q, 0.825m for R, and 0.747m
for S. Our objective of accurate setting out was successfully achieved with the invaluable guidance
of Sir Mohd Kusyairi Bin Ariffin. Additionally, this experience emphasized the importance of
teamwork in expediting processes.
