INTRODUCTION

Bridges are a vital element of infrastructure in the means of effective trans

portation around the world. It plays an important role in our society and is built
to provide accessible passages to the places that are difficult or unattainable f
or us to travel across. Bridges are essential to our everyday living especially i
n rural areas, when floods block the pathway of their homes and schools. It gi
ves them safer routes and prevents accidents and injuries from occurring to th
e residents around the area.

The scope of bridge engineering is constantly expanding, and

technology used in bridge building is also becoming more sophisticated. From
the beginning, engineers have been trying to conquer nature, and as a result,
they have created bridge structures that can be used to overcome the
mentioned natural obstacles. However, bridge influences the entire
ecosystem, and the change is permanent, so proper planning to adapt the
bridge into the natural ecosystem has to be done.

A bridge frequently offers a quicker, easier route to go from point A to

point b, therefore we will begin to explore ideas to improve the lives and
livelihoods of people.
ABOUT THE BRIDGE

Type of Bridge: Arch Bridge

Location: Fishing Port of East Side brgy: Pipindan Binangona Rizal to brgy: S
ubay East Fishing Port Binangona Rizal
Length:1228m/1.228km
Width: 16/ 13 for road, 2m for bike line both side ,50 inch for sidewalk both
side equal 1m

Structures
Foundation
Pile
● This is the most crucial component of the bridge since it strengthens it
and acts as a support during big waves. It can also be seen underwater
at a depth of 20 m and a thickness of 5m

Substructure
● The building's weight is distributed between the substructure and surro
unding soil. As an example, consider retaining walls and foundations fo
r basements. The superstructure is distinguished from it.
Measurements: 2m/ 4 ft in width, 11m/40 ft heigth

Pile Cap
● In addition to providing a bigger area for distributing all of the structur
e's load onto the piles, pile caps provide a solid foundation.
Measurements:15m/5m

Pier
● A system of piers (often formed of concrete) that support the beams of
your home. It was elevated by many feet.
Measurements:11m/4m

Arch
● A bridge with curving arch-shaped abutments at both ends. furthermore
to provide additional support for the weight of the superstructure
Measurements: 564m/80 radius

Mini Pillar/ Supporting Lower Chords

● Employed to support the bridges while also supporting the superstruct
ure and connecting the arch to it.
Measurements:height of each cord starting from right to leaf
11.5m,10.3m,8.9m,7.1m,5.8m,4.2m,2.9m,0.55m,0m,
0.55m, 2.9m,4.2m,5.8m,7.1m,8.9m,10.3m,11.5m

Superstructure

Road and Road Deck

● The portion of a bridge where traffic and people can cross over roads,
valleys, and water bodies is called the deck, commonly referred to as t
he roadway or surface.
Measurements:16 in with , 2m in height (road deck)

Rails
 To ensure that the bridge doesn't collapse instantly, it provides additional
support. It also improves the balance of the bridge by distributing the
weight more evenly.
Measurements:5m,11ft

Barrier
● Barrier with the aim of limiting passenger access and ensuring safety
Measurements:1.5m,3ft

Solar Street Lights

● A light for the bridges to prevent accidents, particularly at night. Solar st
reet lights are the type of lighting we employ.
Measurements:15m in heigth
