Object of the Fraternity

“The object of the Fraternity shall be to encourage a spirit of (1.)___fraternity___ and


(2.)___love___ among its members; to stand at all times for (3.)___character___,
(4.)___dignity___, (5.)___scholarship___, and (6.)___college___ (7.)___loyalty___; to strive for
and support the best (8.)___interests___ of the colleges and universities in which chapters are
installed; and in no way disregard, injure, or sacrifice those interests for the sake of prestige or
(9.)___advancement___ of the Fraternity or any of its (10.)___chapters___.”

AOII Ritual
AOII’s Ritual has been changed significantly several False
times over the years.
All members recite all the Wardens’ Speeches during all True
Rituals except the Ritual for Initiation.
The AOII Badge is only worn by initiated members of True
AOII.
The guidelines for appropriate attire for Ritual are found

in the Ritual Education section of Fulfilling the Promise.

The tagline speaks to this mission and communicates to members and non-members that Alpha
Omicron Pi is filled with passionate and powerful women — women who are impacting the world
through a shared vision to achieve what the heart desires. Sisters who are living these values are
changing the future.
How do you connect to AOII’s tagline, Inspire Ambition?
The opportunities for leadership within AOII provide excellent training and experience that you
can carry with you throughout your life. Learning how to use your own strengths and build upon
them as a leader is what leadership development in AOII is all about.

As expressed in the Object of the Fraternity, all members of the Fraternity are expected to live the
values of character, dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty to the fullest and carry the spirit of
AOII into the world around them.
What value resonates with you the most and why?
Our Founders were adamant that we let each member interpret for herself Ritual’s meaning.
That’s part of its beauty.
