The learners demonstrate an understanding of factors that affect climate, and the
A. Content Standards
effects of changing climate and how to adapt accordingly
B. Performance Standards The learners should be able to participate in activities that reduce risk and lessen the
effects of climate change.
The learners should be to explain how different factors affect the climate of an area.
At the end of the session, students will be able to:
1. Describe altitude as one factor of a climate.
C. Learning Competencies/Objectives 2. Explain how altitude affects the climate of the place.
3. Construct a scattered graph showing the relationship between altitude and
temperature.
4. Appreciate the effect of altitude of an area and how it influences people’s lifestyles.
Write the LC code for each ( (S9ES-IIIe-29)
Content is what the lesson is all about. It pertains to the subject matter that the teacher aims to teach in the CG. The
content can be tackled in a week or two.
Unit 3: Earth and Space. Module 2: Factors That Affect Climate
Topic: Factors Affecting the Climate of an Area: Altitude
Altitude like elevation , is the distance above sea level.Areas are often considered “High
II. CONTENT Altitude if they reach at least 2,400 meters( 8000 feet). For Every 1000m there is a drop of 6.5
degrees celcius. At higher elevations, there is less air.the air molecue are farther apart , thus
making the air less dense. Lighter air can not absorb much heat, making air temperature lower.
Ultimately the decrease in air temperature is due to the decrease in air pressure.
The air temperature decreases as the altitude increases.
The higher the area , the lower the temperature or the higher the altitude the lower the climate.
List the materials to be used in different days. Valid sources of materials sustain children’s interest in the lesson and in
III. LEARNING RESOURCES learning. Ensure that there is a mix of concrete and manipulative materials as well as paper-based materials. Hands-on
learning promotes concept development

Always be guided by the demonstration of learning by the students which you can infer from formative assessment
IV. PROCEDURES activities. Sustain learning systematically by providing students by multiple ways to learn new things, practice their
learning, question their learning processes, and draw conclusion about what they learned in relation to their life
experiences and previous knowledge. Indicate time allotment for each step.
A. Reviewing previous lesson or Review of the previous lesson:
presenting the new lesson (ELICIT)  The teacher will review the past lesson by presenting a simple activity about
latitude
Read each sentence and decide whether you agree or disagree with them. In your
paper ,Draw a circle if you are agree with the statement. Draw triangle if
