General Format for Writing a Scientific Paper conclusionsofthepaper.

When researching for information for the Introduction and Discussion sections or the paper, seek out
statementthatsummarizeswhattheentirefigureisabout.Thefirstsentenceisthenfollowedwithparticulars original sources that are written by experts in the field (e.g. articles found in scientific journals such asScience,
ofthefigurecontents,asappropriate,includinginformationaboutmethods,howthedataareexpressed,or Nature, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, New England Journal of Medicine, etc.) or
anyabbreviationsetc.Anexampleofalegend... authoritative magazines (e.g. Scientific American) and books written by well respected scientists. Textbooks,
 although acceptable in this class as a last resort, are rarely cited in the scientific papers since information in
