CALL FOR POETRY SUBMISSIONS

THEMES : SOLDIERS & WAR
Sub Themes - the courage of soldiers, soldier’s sacrifice, aftermath of war, remembering martyrs, heroism
of veterans, longing for home, the pain of loss, the power of patriotism and all related emotions that
define the themes.
 CATEGORIES
CATEGORY I : Millennials (age up to 18 years - students of all Indian military schools and
public schools)

CATEGORY II : NDA Alumni (both serving and retired)

CATEGORY III : Serving Officers (across Indian tri-services)
CATEGORY IV : Immediate family members of the officers and veterans

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
LAST DATE FOR SUBMISSION – MIDNIGHT 1ST APRIL 2023, IST

 Language: Hindi OR English

 Max 1-2 original poems & unpublished poems of not more than 30 lines each.
 In case of more than 1 poem, only ONE poem per participant shall be chosen for the
final decision.
 All contributions to be made in MS Word (.doc/.docx) format. Font - Times New Roman
12 followed by an attachment that should include- Category, Author’s Bio, contact info,
title of the poem, poem, and declaration in a single file. Please follow the same
sequence.

 Poet’s Bio: Name, profession, designation, affiliation (school/ service/ place of posting/
NDA course etc), age, achievements etc in 100 words
 Contact info: Current Address with pin code, phone number, email id
 Subject of email: Must mention Theme, Category and Poet’s Name
 Declaration: This is to certify, that the poem/s submitted by me is my original work and
has not been submitted elsewhere for publication.
 Submissions that do not adhere to the guidelines shall not be accepted.
 The competition is open to Indians only.
 The results shall be uploaded on the NDA Website by 15th May 2023.
 Cash prizes to 1st , 2nd , and 3rd winners, mementos and certificates will be awarded in
each category.
 Winners shall receive a mail from NDA.
 All the participants will receive an e-certificate.
 The decision taken by NDA shall be final.
 The submissions that do not adhere to the submission guidelines shall not be accepted.
 Best poems will be included in a souvenir in the form of a bilingual anthology commemorating
75 glorious years of NDA.
