RLE METACOGNITIVE REFLECTION (Journal)

1. List and describe your learning experiences as it happens

In our second week of duty, the first therapy we did was occupational therapy,
where I saw how the patients participated in making bread and how they____
thought about how they could earn money. Our second therapy for this week
is music and art therapy, where I saw how well the client handled drawing,___
and I didn't expect that. Also, in his explanation of the drawing, the meaning is
also beautiful and touching. Our third therapy is bibliotherapy, and I saw how_
they all participated in listening to the nursing student read the script, and____
during question and answer, you could really see that they were all alert and_
understood the story that was read. On Thursday is remotivational therapy, for
which I am the assigned therapist, and I can only say that I am very happy___
because they all participated, even though everything that happened was to__
ask question and sometimes I run out of things to say, but I am happy that I__
finished it fine. The last day is grand socialization, where I get to be the MC__
and meet all the patients held by our school. I'm happy to see that they all___
enjoy it and that they feel a sense of closeness or comfort in showing us____
themselves.____________________________________________________

2. What are your thoughts and reactions to the learning experience?

For me, everything that happened this week makes me happy because even_
in our short time here at NCMH, we helped the people who are here to give__
them comfort. They don't feel alone because there are people who can listen
to the story of their lives and gain their confidence. It's not just us who helped
them; they helped us too by changing our perspective on people with mental
disabilities. We used to think that when there was someone with a mental___
illness, they would be hurting us. But even if the patients who came to us are
forensic, I am thankful because even scarier cases are better and there is a_
lot to learn. Even though we can only get memories, I'm still happy that we__
had exposure to this hospital because it helped me a lot. Also, I am happy__
with my patient because we quickly became close, and when we were_____
together, he was just like my older brother, and I can say that everyone can_
change, even if he is a sinner, because I can see his sincerity and kindness.
3. Based on your reflection, what are the things you could have done
otherwise? What else do you need to learn?

I think I really need to excel in nurse-patient interaction and focus more on the
topic of our therapies so that I know what I need them to gain from therapy___
rather than just talking about different things. I should also learn to observe,__
not only in my case, because that will help me become familiar with different_
mental diseases. Earlier, when I was the MC, I should have had more______
confidence so that my patients as well as the patients of my companions____
would also be more confident.______________________________________

4. How could you put together what you have learned?

With all the things I learned at NCMH, I think it will help me to have a good__
approach if I ever meet a person with mental disabilities and not be afraid of_
them. Everyone makes mistakes, but everyone can change. That's why we__
shouldn't immediately judge what we see in a person because we're all equal,
are simply going through different things.. My exposure here will help me____
realize that all people have hope. From the first to the last day, it feels good__
that I put everything I learned in the online course to use in the actual world,_
compared to only in my thoughts like I used to before.___________________

5. What biblical text/ food for thought/quotation/ words to ponder do

you think can support and strengthen your action?

Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment. -Jim Rohn______

This quote motivates me that in order to make our dreams a reality at some____
point, it’s in our best interest to turn those dreams into a set of written goals and
then work to actualize those goals in the real, physical world.________________
