Opinions vary on whether students at higher grades should learn a variety of subjects and enrich
knowledge. Although many argue that it may cause major setbacks, I am still of the conviction of
benefits of such action.

On the one hand, there are some compelling reasons why older children should focus on learning a
narrow range of subjects in specifics. Firstly, a solid foundation on in basic knowledge and essen-
tial skills is the aim of education before adulthood is crucial for education before adulthood,
which requires/is often best served by a highlight of core/academic[加点搭配] subjects like math,

ally prepare for students’ further studying and career development/lay the groundwork for stu-

了？】 . Also, learning the major courses needs/involves intensive attention and persisting/ sus-
tained efforts due to the profundity and complexity of knowledge so that extra burdens and dis-
tractions are sometimes not desirable for those attempting to be specialists. 108

However, it is undoubtable that exposure to various aspects of human knowledge is not only bene-
ficial but also necessary/indispensable/imperative. Through studying different subjects/exploring
diverse subjects in both humanities and sciences, older students can cultivate a comprehensive/
holistic understanding of the world, which may boost their overall wisdom in viewing and solving
problems/their ability to approach problems with wisdom[注意语序的地道性]. For instance, the
studying of social media can prevent them from believing conspiracy theories and misinformation

Besides, it would further allow them to integrate the more general knowledge like math into other
seemingly irrelevant relevant applications like computer programming and business analysis/

and be applied in fields like computer programming and business analysis. Furthermore, this ex-
ploration can help children discover and develop their academic interests, which can provide a
convenient reference clear their mind in deciding college majors and pursuing career prospect.

In summation, the learning of various subjects during higher grades can cause positive effects both
in academic and general capability, which in my opinion outweighs the challenges and difficulties.
