Here are the gifts you sent. I must give them back.

Your beauty will not save you. You will be blamed However honest you say you are. Young men like me
are dangerous, you know.
Hamlet: If that's the truth, tell him to stay there, then. Goodbye.
You are not honest, though you are so fair. I know that now.
Hamlet: Women are all the same. How cleverly they trick us!
And now he's king of Denmark, destroying every hope I had Of ruling like my father.
Horatio: Then you must do it quickly before an answer comes from England. The time is short, you know
it.
Hamlet: Short as a man's life, Horatio, and ended in a minute. But I'm sorry that I fought Laertes. His
Horatio: I nearly forgot, Lord. This is for you. ( He gives Hamlet a letter )
Greetings,
It is with a heavy heart and a burdened soul that I pen this letter to you. The recent events have left
both our families in turmoil, and it seems that destiny has brought us to a crossroads from which there
can be no turning back.
I am sure you are aware of the circumstances surrounding my sister Ophelia's untimely demise, a
tragedy that has shaken my family to its very core. In my grief and anger, I have sought to understand
the truth behind her death, and the more I learn, the clearer it becomes that your hand played a role in
her unfortunate end.
Therefore, I find myself compelled by honour and duty to seek justice for my sister and retribution for
my family. It is with this intent that I challenge you to a duel, a contest of swords that will allow us to
settle our differences and bring closure to this painful chapter in our lives.
I propose that this duel take place in the presence of King Claudius and the court, so that all may bear
witness to our resolve and the righteousness of our cause. Let us meet on the morrow at noon in the
great hall of Elsinore Castle, where our fate will be decided by the skill of our arms and the justice of
our cause.
I await your response, Prince Hamlet, and I hope that you will accept this challenge with the honour
and courage befitting a prince of Denmark.
May God grant us strength and clarity in the face of our trials.
Horatio: I think that you will lose this bet, my good lord.
to the King.
Death will come sometime if not now, then later. We must be ready for it, that is all.
[Hamlet and Horatio go into the Great Hall. Enter Claudius, Gertrude, Laertes and all the courtiers. There
are swords and daggers ready and some wine on a table. Claudius takes Laertes' hand in his. Hamlet
Pardon me, good sir, my actions harmed you, But as you know sir, I have not been myself.
That madness was my enemy and made me yours. Sir, before these people I tell you I am sorry.
Laertes: Your words satisfy my feelings, do believe it. But not my honour. Wiser men must judge you.
Hamlet: Then we will fight as brothers, though your skills Will far surpass mine and I know it.
Laertes: You are joking, sir.
Hamlet: Yes, sir, I do. I hope you will not lose it.
Hamlet: This one suits me well. Are these swords all the same length?
Or if he hits Laertes in the third, then let the great guns fire! Now the King drinks to Hamlet - his skill and
his success!
[Claudius drinks]
Now let the great guns roar success to Hamlet! [Claudius drinks. Sound. of music and guns]
Now, judges, are you ready? Then let the fight begin!
[They fight]
[Claudius drops the poisoned pearl into the cup of wine] Here, Hamlet, take the cup and drink!
[They fight]
Take my handkerchief and wipe your face. I drink to your good fortune, Hamlet!
[They fight]
[The two men fight very hard. Laertes' sword is knocked from his hand by Hamlet. Hamlet picks up
Hamlet: No. I have just begun to fight. (He gives his sword to Laertes]
Osric: And how are you, Laertes? Are you badly hurt?
Gertrude: No, no. It was the drink, dear Hamlet, the drink. The drink was poisoned.
[She dies]
Then drink this poisoned wine, you murderous, evil villain. Follow my mother to your death, you damned
Dane.
[Claudius dies]
As I forgive you. The blame is not yours, but his. [Laertes dies]
You who have watched these terrible events, But have not understood them, are now all pale with fear. I
would tell you everything, but I have no time. Death will not give me time to speak.
I am dying, Horatio, But you must live to tell all men the truth.
There's still some poisoned wine left in this cup - I'll drink it now and follow you to death. [He picks up
the
cup]
No, give the cup to me. You must not drink. Stay in this sad world. Turn from the joys of heaven.
Osric: Young Fortinbras has returned from Poland, Where he won the battle. And together with him, Are
And with my dying voice, I name Prince Fortinbras the next king of Denmark. Tell him my story,
[Hamlet dies]
Horatio: There ends a noble life. Good night, sweet prince. May God's angels carry you to heaven.
Ophelia: Oh, sweet Hamlet...my love, my torment, my shattered heart. How cruel the fates have been to
steal you from me Do you hear me, Hamlet? Do you hear the lament of my soul? I loved you with a love
so fierce, so consuming, that it devoured me whole. And now, you're gone, torn from me by the hands of
fate and the cruelty of men. But what use are tears now, when you lie cold and silent in your grave? What
use is anger, when the world moves on heedless of my pain? Madness...madness is all that remains,
swirling like a tempest within my mind, consuming me with its bitter fury. How I long to hold you in my
arms once more, to feel the warmth of your touch and the softness of your lips. But you are beyond my
reach now, lost to me forever in the cold embrace of death. But I will not let your death be in vain, my
love. I will carry your memory with me always, a beacon of hope in this dark and desolate world. And
though they may call me mad, though they may scorn and revile me, I will love you until the end of time.
Farewell, cruel world, for in death I shall find the peace denied to me in life. ( She kills herself with
Hamlet's sword )
