Marks
1. Read the passage given below and answer the following questions:
Once upon a time, in a small village nestled at the edge of a dense forest,
lived a young girl named Emily. Emily was known throughout the village
for her adventurous spirit and love for exploring. One sunny morning, she
decided to venture into the mysterious forest that everyone else feared.

As Emily stepped into the forest, she was immediately surrounded by a lush,
vibrant world unlike anything she had ever seen. The trees seemed to
whisper secrets to one another, and colourful birds danced through the air.
The path ahead split into three directions, each one leading to a different
part of the forest.

Emily followed the path to the left and soon came across a sparkling river.
Beside the river stood a wise old turtle. The turtle introduced itself as Tessa
and told Emily that the river's water had magical healing properties. Emily
was fascinated and asked if she could take some water back to the village.
Tessa agreed, but only if Emily promised to use it wisely.

Continuing her journey, Emily took the path to the right and found herself in
a meadow filled with the most exquisite flowers. In the center of the

meadow, she met a mischievous fairy named Felix. Felix offered her a tiny
vial and said that the pollen from these flowers could grant her a single
wish. However, the wish must be selfless and for the benefit of others.
Emily thought for a while and made her wish to bring prosperity to her
village.

Lastly, Emily followed the path straight ahead and stumbled upon a hidden
grove. Inside the grove, she encountered a majestic unicorn named Luna.
Luna could communicate with Emily through her thoughts. Luna revealed
that she was the guardian of the forest and had been waiting for someone
with a pure heart to visit. She blessed Emily with the ability to understand
and speak the language of animals.

After spending a wonderful day exploring the magical forest, Emily

returned to the village. She used the water from the river to heal the sick,
shared the pollen's magic to help the needy, and used her newfound ability
to bring harmony between humans and animals. The village prospered, and
