1 INTRODUCTION
A minor works will be carried out at 1/F, Parkside, 18 Tong Chun Street, Tseung
Kwan O and the construction is undertake by Wasky Construction Co. Ltd.. This
report presents the summary of minor works, location of the proposed minor works,
and materials used for the minor works which will be carried out.

2 PROPOSED MINOR WORKS

Several new block wall will be construction at the 1/F of Parkside along the location
of between Grid 1L and Grid G L, Grid 13 to Grid 54 and Grid A to Grid E for the
commercial used. The height of the proposed new block wall is about 4.1m with the
thickness 75mm, lightweight blocks are used to construct the proposed new block
wall. The locations of proposed new block wall are shown in Appendix A. The
catalog of lightweight blocks is shown in Appendix C.

According to the “Minor Works Control System” issued by Building Departments, the
construction of proposed new block wall is classified as Type 1 Class minor work
with item number 1.43 by fulfilled certain requirements. Form MW MH01 will be
submitted separately before the minor works is carried out.

Due to the proposed new block wall will be construct on the floor slab at G/F 1/F, the
self-weight of block wall is assumed to distribute on the floor slab. Therefore, a
structural checking of the loading for new block wall had been carried out. The result
of calculation show that the loading distributed on floor slab is about 1.3kPa which is
less than the design live load 5kPa of the original slab design. Therefore, the slab is
structurally feasible to support the new block wall. The calculation of loading of block
wall and the loading key plan of 1st floor slab are shown in Appendix B.

3 CONCLUSIONS
The construction of non-bearing block wall will be carried out at the 1/F of Parkside
under the “Minor Works Control System”. The related information including the
location, materials and effect on existing structural are provided in this report. Base
on the structural review of the loading for proposed block wall and the original design
for the 1st floor slab, the original design of the 1st floor slab is structurally feasible to
support the new block wall, the effect due to the construction of new block wall to the
1st floor slab is insignificant.
