Start with the Intro

Adjust the Amplitude, how does the sound change?

Adjust the Frequency, how does the sound change?

Slide the listener closer and farther from the sound source. How does the sound change?

Move to the Measure activity

Choose 3 difference frequencies on the slider. Use the ruler tool to measure the resultant
wavelength. (low frequencies work better!)
F λ

What speed of sound results from these measurements?

Use the stopwatch feature to measure the amount of time that a wave takes to traverse 5
meters. What speed results from these measurements? Compare the two.

Move to the Two Sources Activity

How does the propagated pattern look different? Include photo evidence via screenshot.
(hint: what is happening to our distinct bands of high & low pressure?)
Name:

What happens when you move the listener to one of these special areas?

What that we have discussed could be responsible for this new pattern and effect? Support with
evidence about the situation.

Make note of areas where total constructive and total destructive interference occur. Label them
on a screenshot below.

Move to the Air Pressure Activity

How does the density of air by the speaker affect the sound?
