Thank you for agreeing to be interviewed as part of our research: “Palit Na

Gwapo/Gwapa: An Analysis on the Use of Registers Shift in Speech Act of Haggling.”
Ethical procedures for academic research undertaken by anyone from Western Mindanao
State University require that all interviewees explicitly agree to be interviewed and how the
information contained in their interview will be used. This consent form is necessary to
ensure that you understand the purpose of your involvement and that you agree to the
conditions of your participation.

Gwapo/Gwapa: An Analysis On The Use Of Registers Shift In Speech Act Of Haggling.” Kinahanglan ang
kompletong pagtugot sa mga impormante nga mamahimo silang kabahin sa pakigsayud ug ang tanang
impormasyon nga makuha pagagamiton. Gikinahanglan kini sa tanang akademikong riserts nga pagahimoon
ilalom sa Western Mindanao State University.) Isip usa ka pormal nga pamaagi. Mahinungdanon kini nga
pagtugot aron masiguro nga nasabtan ninyo ang inyong pagsalmot niining butanga.

When you sign this form, you agree to the following:

 the interview will be recorded, and a transcript will be produced (I-rekord ang pakigsayud nga
pagahimoon ug adunay sinulat nga kopya niini).
 a copy of the transcript will be sent to you and you will be given the opportunity to correct
any factual errors (Hatagan kamo sa sinulat nga kopya ug aduna kamoy higayon nga tarungon ang
mga sayop niini).
 the transcript of the interview will be analyzed by the researcher as the research investigator
(Ang sinulat nga kopya sa pakigsayud pagasusihon sa naga himo ug riserts isip usa ka imbestigador).
 access to the interview transcript will be limited to the researcher, the research adviser, the
thesis panelists, and others who may participate as part of the research process (Ang katungod
sa pag-alam sa sinulat nga kopya limitado lamang ngadto sa nagahimo sa riserts, adbayser, mga
panelista, ug uban pang nisalmot niini).
 any summary interview content, or direct quotations from the interview, that are made
available through academic publication or other academic outlets will be directly and properly
attributed to you (Pagailhon ka sa tanang impormasyong gikan niining pakigsayud, gisuma man o
gihisgutan, nga pagagamiton sa mga akademikong publikasyon).
 the actual recording will be kept by the researcher and no one will have access to it unless
with your explicit consent (Ang kopya sa record niini pagahipuson sa risertser ug walay
makatandog niini kung walay pagtugot gikan kanimo).
 any variation of the conditions above will only occur with your further explicit approval (Ang
tanang kausaban sa gikasabutan mausab lamang kung adunay pagtugot gikan kanimo).

By signing this form, I agree that (Sa pag-pirma niining papel niuyon ko nga):
1. I am voluntarily taking part in this project. I understand that I can stop the interview at any
time or choose not to answer some questions asked for whatever reasons I may have
(Kinaugalingon ang akong pagsalmot niini nga proyekto. Nasabtan ko nga mamahimo nakong
undangon ang pakig-sayud sa bisan unsang panahon o dli pagatubagon ang ubang mga pangutana
tungod aduna koy kaugalingong hinungdan).
2. The transcribed interview or extracts from it may be used as described above (Ang sinulat nga
kopya sa pakig-sayud o ang ubang bahin niini mamahimong gamiton sama sa nahisgutan sa taas).
3. I don’t expect to receive any benefit or payment for my participation (Wala nako dahuma nga
aduna koy madawat nga benepisyo o bayad sa pag-salmot niini).
4. I can request a copy of the transcript of my interview and may make edits I feel necessary to
ensure the effectiveness of any agreement made (Mamahimo kong mangayo ug sinulat nga kopya
sa pakig-sayud ug mahimo ko kining usbon aron masiguro nga husto ang nahimong kasabutan).
5. I can ask questions that I might have at any point during the interview, and I understand that I
am free to contact the researcher with any questions I may have in the future (Mamahimo kong
mangutana sa risertser sa panahon sa pakig-sayud ug mahimo nako siyang tawagan kung aduna koy
mga pangutana sa umalabot nga panahon).
