Subject: Seeking Approval for Legislative Policy Drafting & Presentation Competition

Respected Sir,

Through the instrumentality of this letter, an approval is being sought for the Legislative
Policy Drafting & Presentation Competition being organized by the Centre for Policies, Laws
and Agenda, NUSRL, Ranchi. The Competition presents a unique opportunity for the
participants to delve into the intricacies of legislative drafting, refining their skills in the
process. The chosen theme for the competition is the “Cryptocurrency Regulation
Challenge.” The tentative dates for the competition are:

1st April, 2024 Late day for seeking clarifications
22nd April, 2024 Deadline of Submission
12th May, 2024 Declaration of Phase I results
20th-21st May, 2024 Presentation of the finalists and the
declaration of final results.

Funds
For the Competition, approaches were made to various institutions for sponsorship, we were
able to realize a sum of Rs. 5,000 from two sponsors who are AD NEWS (Adivasi Duniya
News) and MARG: An NGO, the prize pool of the competition has been fixed at being Rs.
10,000. The remaining amount for the prize pool shall be raise from the registration amounts
we receive from the participants which has been fixed at being Rs. 200 and Rs. 450 for
individual and team registrations respectively, we also estimate a miscellaneous expenditure
of Rs 2,000 for the organization of the competition. This amount of Rs. 2,000 towards
miscellaneous expenses will have to be provided by the university. This takes the total budget
of the competition to being Rs. 12,000 wherein Rs. 10,000 are solely for the prize pool and
Rs. 2,000 are meant for the miscellaneous expenditure.
Internship Opportunity and Prizes
The winners of the competition shall be felicitated in the following way:
1) Winner: Rs. 5000 + Internship Opportunity at B&B Associates LLP + Certificate of
Merit
2) 1st Runner-Up: Rs. 3000 + Internship Opportunity at B&B Associates LLP +
Certificate of Merit
3) 2nd Runner-Up: Rs. 2000 + Certificate of Merit
4) Certificate of merit to the top five participants
5) Certificate of Participation to all participants
For the Competition, approach was made to B&B Associates LLP, a full-service law firm
located in Panchkula, Haryana having registered offices at Faridabad, Delhi, Noida,
Dehradun, Patiala, Panchkula, Mohali, Gurugram, Lucknow.
Judges and Format of the Competition
The Competition is planned to be held in two phases, in the first phase there would be panel
of judges who shall judge the drafts on various parameters and upon qualification some teams
shall proceed to the second round of the competition wherein an online presentation shall be
held of qualified participants and the winners will be adjudged accordingly. The judges of the
first phase shall be the alumni of our university who also form the panel of judges during our
intra moot court competitions and 20% of the total teams shall move to the second round
wherein the panel will consist of 5 judges who shall be from various fields and will adjudge
the winners.
