PROJECT GUIDELINES

HISTORY AND CIVICS-2024-25


GRADE X

INSTRUCTIONS TO BE FOLLOWED:

1. COVER PAGE: Must have the following details


a. Your Name, Class, Section, Roll no
b. Name of the Project Topic
c. Name of the subject (History and Civics)
d. Mention internal examiner and external examiner on left and right hand side
respectively.

2. Acknowledgement- After the cover page is the acknowledgement page.

3. Index: The index follows the acknowledgement page and should be in the form of a
table with page numbers.

4. Content: Must follow the given format and have the following details

a. Maximum number of pages should not exceed more than 10 pages for content and
along with the cover page, acknowledgement, index and bibliography should not
exceed 15 pages.
b. A4 size paper must be used with borders and the pages must be numbered neatly.
c. Photographs and pictures must be on the left-hand side and labelled accurately.
d. Content must be neatly written on the right-hand side with the following details:
i. Main Heading and Sub Heading must be in caps and should be underlined
ii. There must be proper demarcation between paragraphs.
iii. Use black pen for writing the content

5. Bibliography: Wikipedia is not a source for research, please do not mention it in the
bibliography. It can only be used for reference. Books should be mentioned in the
bibliography.

6. The project must be SPIRAL BOUND

7. Marks will be given on the following basis

a. Preparation/Research
b. Information
c. Concepts
d. Critical analysis of the topic
e. Presentation
8. The final date for submission of the project is 2nd June 2024. Please show the
teachers the rough draft on 22 May 2024 before binding the project so that the
necessary changes can be easily made.

Following are the topics for the Project

1. Compare the Parliamentary and Presidential forms of Government with reference


to India and the U.S.A.
2. Present a life sketch and contributions of any one Presidents of India:
3. Present a book review of any one of the following works:
a. Dadabhai Naoroji’s ‘Poverty and Un-British Rule in India’
b. Gandhi’s ‘The story of my experiments with truth’
c. Nehru’s ‘Discovery of India’
d. Bhagat Singh’s, ‘Why I am an Atheist’.
e. Vijayalakshmi Pandit’s ‘The Scope of Happiness
f. Abdul Kalam’s ‘Wings of fire’
4. Discuss the relevance of any one of the following films to understand the history
of 20th century Europe:
a. The Book Thief
b. Schindler’s List
c. Escape to Victory
d. The Boy in striped Pyjamas
e. Life is Beautiful
f. The Sound of music
g. Gandhi
h. Sardar
i. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero
5. Highlight the work and achievements of any one Nobel Laureate:
Malala Yousafzai or Kailash Satyarthi
6. Present a case study of any recent human rights violations and redressal
mechanisms available to prevent such instances in the future.
7. Make a presentation on the influence of Gandhian principles on Martin Luther
King / Nelson Mandela.
8. Prepare a report on the contributions of any one of the following agencies of the
United Nations – ILO / UNDP / FAO.
9. Present a case study of any recent human rights violations and redressal
mechanisms available to prevent such instances in the future.
