1. What is community needs assessment? Why is it important in formulating NSTP
projects?
- Community needs assessment means finding out what a community needs help with. It's
important for NSTP projects because it helps decide what to work on, involves everyone
in the community, uses resources wisely, and checks if things are getting better. It's like
asking people what problems they have and then making plans to fix them.
- Assessing community needs means taking a deep dive into who lives there, what
resources are available, and what's missing. It's about understanding people's lives,
listening to their concerns, and considering the community's history and culture. By
bringing all these pieces together, we can paint a clear picture of what the community
needs most. It's a collaborative process that involves everyone, ensuring that we work
together to address the most pressing issues and make positive changes for a brighter
future.
3. How are data collected for a meaningful reults of community needs assessments?
- To gather data for community needs assessments, we ask questions through surveys or
interviews, talk to groups, observe what's happening, and review existing information
like census records. Community meetings and online platforms also play a role. By using
these methods, we gain insights into what the community needs and how to provide
support effectively. It's about listening to people, understanding their concerns, and
working together to address them, ensuring that our efforts are targeted and meaningful.
