1. Intertext
Ans:
A literary text that is related to one or more other texts, esp through the use of allusions
to these texts.
2. Intertextuality
Ans:
Intertextuality is the shaping of a text's meaning by another text. It is the interconnection
between similar or related works of literature that reflect and influence an audience's
interpretation of the text. Intertextuality is the relation between texts that are inflected by
means of quotations and allusion.
3. Hypertext
Ans:
Hypertext is text which contains links to other texts. The term was coined by Ted Nelson
around 1965 (see History ). HyperMedia is a term used for hypertext which is not
constrained to be text: it can include graphics, video and sound , for example. ...
Hypertext and HyperMedia are concepts, not products.
B. Does incorporating intertext and hypertext make reading/writing more interesting? Why?
Ans:
Hypertext allows people to shift to different texts as fast as the internet loading speeds allow.
Intertextuality helps people understand better by referring to multiple texts to compare meaning.

1. Why is critical reading as a way of reasoning important?
Ans:
It is important to read critically. Critical reading requires you to evaluate the
arguments in the text. You need to distinguish fact from opinion, and look at
arguments given for and against the various claims. ... It is also important to be
aware of the writer's background, assumptions and purposes.
2. Read and analyze the poem below entitle “The Sick Rose” and fill in the matrix
with information about the text.
