MIDTERM EXAM

A Proposed Shipping Container Office Building

You and Ar. Jeane Gang just passed the Licensure Exam for Architects this year. Inspired and Motivated,
the two of you decided to collaborate and start an Architectural Design Consultation Firm at Claveria, Misamis
Oriental. Both of you agreed on using Shipping Containers as your primary structure for the project. Ar. Gang
decided to be assigned in the construction management and implementation, while You are assigned for all the
major design decisions that will be implemented on the construction. That means you have all the artistic and
scientific freedom in creating the character of the building according to your personality as an Architect.

The lot is an irregular, inside lot with an area of 1200 square meters. It has a frontage of 40.62 meters
facing north-west, along a 15.00-meter-wide road right of way. In creating the design solution, the designer must
conform to the standards imposed by the IRRs of Accessibility Law (BP 344) and the National Building Code (PD
1096). Parking spaces may be included with the proposal’s design, and the access and landscaping are left to the
designer’s discretion.

Major Space Requirements:

An Architects office must have the following spaces:
1. Architect’s Office
2. Conference Room
3. Design Department Area
4. Construction Department Area
5. Lobby & Reception
6. Kitchen & Pantry
7. Modelling Area
8. Bathroom
9. Parking Area

Drawing requirements (100/100): Plot on an A3-sized paper in PDF format, with a filled OBO-standard title block.

o Bearing and Station Points
o Dimensions & Labels

 Floor Plan – Indicating the Following details

o Furniture Layout
