I. Title: Plant in The Box Project: Sustaining The Healthy Environment and
Ambiance Inside The School Premises
II. Rationale:
Plant in the box project aims to close the gap between nature and everyday life in an era
where it is becoming more civilized by encouraging students to be more aware to care about
their surroundings. With the help of this creative project, educators will be able to establish a
living, breathing classroom where students may actively interact with the natural world, learn
about sustainable practices, and gain deep awareness of how their decisions affect the
environment.
Modern education is not only about textbooks and classroom lectures; it is also about
instilling values, promoting holistic development, and preparing students to be responsible
global citizens. Recognizing the need for a hands-on, experiential approach to learning, the
School Garden Project emerges as a response to the growing disconnect between the younger
generation and the environment.
Recent studies indicate a decline in outdoor activities among children, leading to various
health issues such as sedentary lifestyles and a lack of appreciation for the environment. The
School Garden Project is a proactive initiative to counteract these trends by providing
students with a dynamic space where they can actively participate in the cultivation of a
school garden. This project goes beyond the conventional classroom setup, offering a unique
platform for interdisciplinary learning that integrates science, nutrition, sustainability, and
environmental studies.
In addition to addressing health issues, the School Garden Project seeks to foster a
feeling of environmental responsibility. Students will learn about plant life cycles, soil health,
and the value of biodiversity via practical gardening experiences. They will also learn about
composting, water conservation, and sustainable gardening techniques, equipping them with
knowledge and abilities to help create a more sustainable future.
