MAHE, Manipal organizes AAPI- Global Health Summit, 2024

Udupi, Jan 6: MAHE Institute had the opportunity to collaborate with the American Associations of
Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) and host and conduct the 17th Annual Global Health Care Summit from
January 4th to 6th, 2024. The conference, which was held at the Manipal campus of Kasturba Medical
College, aims to promote the exchange of knowledge and views from different medical and academic
backgrounds. The summit highlighted India’s contribution to healthcare services and progress especially
during the pandemic era. The summit revolved around the idea of ‘The Future of Healthcare and
Artificial Intelligence’. There were two major reasons to conduct the summit, firstly, to foster healthcare
improvement for 1.4 billion Indians, and secondly, to study and analyze the influence of AI on the
healthcare sector of the country. The synergistic partnership between AAPI and MAHE embodies the
mission to create an inclusive, innovative, and integrated global health environment. The summit
emphasized advancement and improvements in the technology aspect of healthcare, making the
medical and healthcare infrastructure more accessible. On the last day of the event, i.e., on 6th January
2024 MAHE conducted the Women's Forum of the Global Health Care Summit, where great women
accomplishers viz., “Dr. Udaya Shivangi”, “Dr. Anjana Samaddar”, “Dr. Annapurna Bhat”, “Dr. Arathi
Krishna”, “Smt. Lakshmi Bayi Nalapat”, “Smt. Lakshmi R. Hebbalkar” graced the event with their vision
and perspectives on improving healthcare facilities and strengthening the healthcare sector in India post-
pandemic. AAPI is a renowned and significant organization. It has contributed to the bilateral relations
between India and USA.
