This data shows that not even almost 100% are capable of disaster preparedness,

response, and management. 45% of those are mostly far from remote areas, hence,
10% of them are very capable, and these are certainly the people who are not at the
grassroots and have the resources to equip themselves whenever there are disasters
that will occur. Sadly, 40% are moderately capable, consequently, 5% are not capable,
mainly because of a lack of resources, an unparalleled effort from the management and
its sectors, and even being in areas that are not urbanized.
While there are counting measures for disaster preparedness and response, it is
inevitable to face challenges. As such, this data shows how often, or the other way
around, they face it. Almost half of the respondents encountered those hurdles, and the
percentage of those who always encountered them is close to that. Furthermore, only
20% of those who seldom encounter it and 10% of those who do not encounter any of it
do so, yet 5% of them refuse to answer.
In a world that has been profoundly shaken, may it be natural or man-made, we must be
equipped with not just knowledge but actions. It is a shared responsibility for people and
the community. These results shed light on the fact that every single time is the time to
be ready because things are uncertain and we never know what will happen tomorrow.
Having to participate in disaster preparedness and management programs will not only
save you from all the challenges but also your community. After all, we are a global
community, yet no man is an island.
