Re: Reference for Hailey Rau

My name is Kelli Rumpza, Certified Prevention Specialist at the Human Service Agency located
in Watertown SD. I am the Project Coordinator for our school-based program Project SUCCESS
where Hailey Rau has been the Project SUCCESS coordinator since February 2023.
Hailey’s role is to be an advocate for students to help them to be successful while in school.
She shows empathy and compassion, as well as taking the time to understand the different
situations and social issues that impact the students. She is very committed in helping students
and their families. With this position, Hailey has become familiar with and has kept current on
local helping resources, programs, and services for students. During the school day, she
provides screenings of students; facilitate individual and group sessions; provide classroom
education; facilitate parent and student meetings – in person or over the phone; communicates
with school faculty on how to identify, assess, motivate, and refer students; coordinate
referrals to mental health and/ or substance use services as well as other community services;
and attends school and community meetings; as well as working with key community programs
to support the student and the family.
Hailey is very dedicated to helping others, especially youth. She is self-motivated and shows
integrity in the work that she does. I support her pursuing her Master’s Degree in Social Work.
