Charging your battery

The Ahooga bikes, Folding and Modular, have a removable battery (400 – 168Wh
Capacity). Therefore, they can be charged on the cycle or taken off and removed. To
charge the battery, you will require the following components:

a) Charger Modular Active 24V Power 36V

To charge the battery: b) Battery

1. Take the charger out of the box and connect the charger (a) to the power socket. You
will see the light of the charger turn on green. If not, please check that there is
electricity. If there is, please contact support.
2. Now connect the other end of the charger to the battery (b). Once it is connected, the
light of the charger will turn red,

The battery charging times are presented in the table below

Time
Battery charge Modular Folding
400 Wh 300 Wh 252 Wh 168 Wh 128 Wh
20% 50’ 25’ 33’ 42 31’
40% 100’ 65’ 67’ 84 62’
60% 151’ 100’ 101’ 126 94’
80% 201’ 125’ 134’ 168 125’
100% 318’ 205’ 254’ 254’ 210’

To prolong battery life:

• It is recommended to charge the battery before it reaches 20%,
• Do not charge it to 100% unless you plan a long trip.

Always charge it in dry and climate temperatures(above 0 C degrees and below

24 C). If the battery is getting too hot (More than 40C), disconnect from the
power supply, and please contact Ahooga support

Storing your bike

It is essential to store the battery according to the following recommendations to

keep your Ahooga bike’s battery in top-notch conditions:

• Do not store the battery at 100% for more than a day

• If you will not use your bike for a couple of hours, remove it from the bike and
store it inside.
• If you will not use your bike for a couple of weeks, store it inside with 20 to 40%
of its capacity and always outside of the cycle.
• If you will not use your bike for more than a few months, charge the battery to
80 % and store it separately from the cycle at a dry and climate place.

When the bike is stored for longer, It will go to hibernation mode. To turn this
mode off, connect the battery to the charger. The LED light indicators will turn one
by one. 5

Cold weather care

Outside temperatures play a significant role in the battery's performance. Cold weather
affects the range and power performance of the battery negatively. Likewise, sub-zero
conditions will damage the battery. Therefore, permanently remove the battery from the
bike when temperatures are too low, and it is not possible to store the bike inside. If this is
not a possibility, make sure that the battery is not empty when left outside.

• Do not charge your battery at sub-zero temperatures

• When arriving from cold weather, wait for the battery to warm up before charging
• Do not leave the battery outside in cold conditions
• The battery will shut down if working at temperatures of -10C°
• Electric assistance will be limited at low temperatures
• Low temperatures may affect the range of the battery since

Low battery level

The battery charge indicators are shown as a battery bar with five levels. The
following table shows the relation between battery state of charge (SOC) and
display.

Battery indicator bar Percentage on the

display of (SOC)
0 (outer border flashing) C≤5%
1 5%<C<15%
2 15%≤C<35%
3 35%≤C<55%
4 55%≤C<75%
5 C≥75%
The bike will go into save mode when the SOC goes below 35%.
This action will decrease the level of electric assistance you can get. When the
SOC goes below 5%, your bike will deactivate support mode, and you will stop
receiving electric assistance. Likewise, the display will shut down if it goes below
3%.
