Workshop B Model Making

The task was something new for me. I knew that I was going to do models in architecture, and
this was my first time, so I learnt lots of things from it. Firstly, I did not think that modelling
could be done in a such a small time, and I would have not thought that it would give me lots of
ways to try the ideas in my head. For example, the first thing that we did in the seminar was to
make a model from paper in 5 minutes. That was the first time I made a model and it made me
think that modelling is not something that you do as a final product it is a part of the process that
leads you to final product.
For me the final product happened by accident. I was doing a model which was inspired by
Double-slit experiment which shows that light can display of characteristics of both waves and
particles. But then I started to think about other things like the Grand Bazar in Turkey. Then I
started to think about the tiny houses that started to get trendy so I thought maybe I should make
a model of them. Then out of nowhere I just started sketching and finally I liked what I saw and
gave it a shot and I loved it.
