Quick Reference Guide SLA-UNI H-Type
H-type: For use with Haag-Streit type slit lamps
User Protection Filter Adjustment
Untighten the two mounting screws of
the user protection filter holding arm to
the SLA main arm and remove the user
protection filter device.
Adapter Installation
Place the adapter on the tonometer pin.
Make sure not to touch the slit lamp
illumination mirror with the SLA
deflection mirror.
Adjust the height of the SLA with the
adjustment screw on top of the adapter
plate (see arrow).
Check the height of the SLA by
monitoring the illumination beam path
on the deflection mirror of the SLA – the
deflection mirror must be placed in the
centre of illumination beam path.
Affix the height position of the SLA by
tightening the locking screw (see arrow).
Spot Adjustment
Set the SLA diameter adjustment to
50 µm. Connect the SLA to the laser
unit and turn on the aiming beam.
Untighten the two mounting screws of
the SLA main arm (see arrow). Move the
SLA main arm until the spot of the
aiming beam on the slit lamp adjustment
tool is clear and as small as possible.
Tighten the two mounting screws.

User Protection Filter Adjustment
Mount the user protection filter back to
the SLA main arm and adjust it so it will
not touch the front lens of the slit lamp
and stand free of the moving deflection
mirror of the slit lamp illumination.
Untighten the holding screws of the filter
frame and andjust the filter in its height
until it is in the centre of the observation
path of the slit lamp. Affix the holding
screws.
Spot Centering
Turn on the slit lamp illumination and set
it to a narrow slit. Set the
micromanipulator to its centre position.
Untighten the horizontal and the vertical
spot adjustment screw (see arrows). Turn
on the aiming beam. Adjust the mirror
until the aiming beam is in the centre of
the slit on the slit lamp adjustment tool.
Affix the adjustment screws. bad good bad

Final Adjustment
Place the slit lamp with the SLA ahead of
a non reflective wall at a distance of 1m.
Set the parameters on power = 50 mW;
time = 5000 ms; spot diameter = 50 µm.

Release pulses towards the wall to check
the shape of the treatment spot. Make
sure the treatment spot is circular and
well defined. If not re adjust the Spot
Centering and consult the installation
manual.
