- I will write anecdotal notes of if the students can
squeeze the bottle by themselves during the lesson
– for each child to assess the fine motor skills and
manipulation
- I will also ask specific questions: “I see you mixed red
and yellow together, what color did we make?”
Program Monitoring: (How will you aggregate or compile
your evidence into a class or group view?)
- The whole classes work will be on the poster paper
so I will be able to hang it up in the classroom and
can refer back to it
Differentiation:
- Those who cannot hold the materials I will have
sponges and I can guide their hands with mine
- Encourage using their fingers to mix colors - One
finger, one color – other finger, another color – then
mix with the two fingers.
- For children who don’t have the proprioception when
squeezing the bottle – I will put a circle on the paper
for them to squeeze into.

Procedural steps:
- I will first put out the primary colors one at a time
making sure to say what each color is as I am putting
it onto the table – I will set out the sponges as well
- I will allow them to use the paint how they would like
– I want them to squeeze their own paint onto the
paper for those fine motor skills
- As they are all mixing I will ask the question (or
something like it): “I see you mixed red and yellow
together, what color did we make?” – I want to ask
discussion questions.
