INTRODUCTION :

◼ Due to the COVID-19, lots of company


setting up some epidemic prevention
measures, many companies have to
chosen to work from home or remote
work.

◼ It is necessary to communicate with


others and hold meetings through online
platforms.
INTRODUCTION :
◼ Suspending Classes without Suspending Learning. EDB suppose all the
school should setting up e-Learning. So, schools always using zoom,
google meet and other online platforms to maintain e-Learning.

How to choose a suitable platform for teaching and holding meetings?

➢ It has become a public topic that pay attention to.

➢ What are the factors we need to consider when choosing these platforms.

◆ Is it safety? 
◆ Is it functionable? 
◆ Is it being user friendly interface? 

Case 1:
Alice’s use the computer at school to join the zoom lesson. She open the
online learning environment to get the full link to join the lesson. She only
close the browser after the lesson. One day, a unknow people use her name
to join the lesson and take the attendance. Her individual information is
being used by someone.

➢ ZOOM has security problems!


PROBLEM 1 –
POTENTIAL SECURITY ISSUES OF ZOOM
◼ Student don’t need to enter the password to join meeting when they
get the full link.

◼ Zoom don’t need to sign in to join the meeting. When the computer
was infected. Another person using an infected computer to join the
Zoom meeting. The IP was easy to hacked by another user through
the trojan horse.

◼ Computer recorded the lesson links in the browser. Another


person using this computer next time. This person have the
opportunity to join the meeting next time.
PROBLEM 1 –

➢ Methods to prevent and solve the problem:
◼ The administrator setting password to join the zoom meeting.

◼ Using random meeting ID. It avoid unknown user to hack the meeting.

◼ The administrator limit in same organization.


e.g. Modify setting at Zoom with a specific OU email as the login user.

FUNCTION LIMITATION
OF ZOOM
◼ Zoom haven’t the multiple two steps verification
options. In Google meet, all data is encrypted in
transit by default between the client and Google for
video meetings on a web browser. Meet adheres to
IETF security standards for Datagram Transport Layer
Security (DTLS) and Secure Real-time Transport
Protocol (SRTP).
◼ For every person and for every meeting, Google
Meet generates a unique encryption key, which only
lives as long as the meeting, is never stored to disk,
and is transmitted in an encrypted and secured RPC
(remote procedure call) during the meeting setup.
PROBLEM 2 –
FUNCTION LIMITATION OF ZOOM
➢ Methods to prevent and solve the problem:

◼ Avoid provide the full link to the student. Administrator only provide the
Zoom meeting ID and password to student to join the Zoom meeting.

◼ Student need to name the display name as special formats. (e.g. SID_student
name). It can show it to the administrator and let the administrator
distinguish who are you?

Features & Functions :


◼ It belongs to the Microsoft 365 application series with excel, word and PowerPoint.

◼ Both the free and business versions also provide applications such as conference
calls, file sharing, and web versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

◼ Video conferences can support up to 250 participants.

◼ For real-time events (live broadcast), the maximum number of participants is up to


10,000.

Security :

◼ The security and compliance that is excellent. The data to be used and
transmitted in Teams will be encrypted with enterprise-level specifications,
which effectively reduces the risk of corporate secrets leaking, and it
enforces the use of multi-factor authentication(MFA). Equipped with
Windows Rights Management Mechanism(RMS) to check the security of your
account.
CONCLUSION :
◼ Nowadays, the above platforms are very commonly.
Most of the functions are quite similar and have stability and security.

◼ As long as we use the platform's appropriately that we can solve the


security problems and prevent be hacked by others.

➢ When we choosing platform, the business needs of the


organizations should be taken into consideration rather
than the best quality.
CONCLUSION :
◼ For large organizations, it requires advanced security measures.

Google meet is more functionable as they hold online conferences.


✓ Use for contacts in meetings
(Allow file sharing, interactive chat, plaor daily nning on the calendar.)

✓ Daily planning on the calendar.

◼ For schools, it requires a simple interface for users.

✓ It has interactive functions and simple screen sharing functions.

CONCLUSION :

◼ Microsoft teams is also a platform that schools will use frequently.

➢ Students often using with Microsoft software (excel, word, PowerPoint) to do

classwork.

➢ In order to have the compatibility for using Microsoft teams as their online

learning platform.
