Detailed Lesson Plan

in Mathematics X

I. Learning Objectives
At the end of the discussion, the student should be able to:
a. identify the different landmarks in Magarao;
b. explain and share why the landmark chosen are significant in
your community; and
c. construct a map of chosen landmarks in Magarao and get
the distance, midpoint, and the coordinate proof of different
landmarks.

Teacher’s Activities Students’ Activities
Good morning, class.
Good morning, Sir
Let us all stand and feel the presence of
the lord. Ms. Peverline, please lead the
prayer.
In the name of the father…
Before you sit, kindly pick up the pieces
of paper under your chairs

Are we done?
Yes, Sir.
Do we have absentees today? Ms.
Peverlyn
None, Sir
I’m glad that everyone is around.
Please give us a recap about our
discussion last meeting, Mr. Amador.

Last meeting, we discussed about the

properties of some geometric shapes
and use the distance formula in proving.
Very well said, Mr. Sandy
So, What is the formula in getting the
distance, Joy
d= √ (x 2−x 1 )+( y 2− y 1 )
Precisely! Joy
Do we have an assignment?
None, Sir

A. Activity
A. Lesson Proper
Activity 11: A Map of My Own
Perform the following activity. Use the
rubric provide to rate your work.

1. 1. Have a copy of the map of

your municipality, city, or
province then make a sketch of it
on a coordinate plane. Indicate
on the sketch some important
landmarks, then determine their
coordinates. Explain why the
landmarks you have indicated
are significant in your
community. Write also a
paragraph explaining how you
selected the coordinates of these
important landmarks.
2. Using the coordinates assigned
to the different landmarks in item
#1, formulate then solve
problems involving the distance
formula, midpoint formula, and
the coordinate proof.

Group 1 picked Geometric Proof

Group 2 picked Midpoint
Group 3 picked Distance
B. Analysis
Does the work of Group 1 is
correct? Yes, Sir

Let’s give Group 1 a big round of

applause. Next group presenter
please proceed.

Does the work of Group 2 is Yes, Sir

correct?

Let’s give Group 2 a big round of

applause. Next group presenter
please proceed.
Yes, Sir
Does the work of Group 3 is
correct?

Excellent! Class
Generalizations and Abstractions
about the lesson

How we can Prove geometric

properties? We can prove geometric properties by
using distance formula and it depends to
the shape what properties we will prove.

Why distance formula is important? It helps construct new buildings, find

location, route new ways in emergent
cases, and much more.

Assignment

Directions: On your notebook, answer the following. Show your solutions.

Determine the number that must be added to make each of the following a perfect
square trinomial. Then, express it as a square of a binomial. Answer the questions
that follow.

1. x2 + 4x + ________
2. t2 + 10t + ________
3. w2 + 9w + ________
4. x2 – 11x + ________

5. t2 – s+ ________
