Argumentative Essays

To begin with, something that I learned from essay one that I used in essay 3 was being

able to use evidence from sources to help support my main ideas to strengthen my essay. For

example, in essay 1, I had to use the sources to help provide evidence to make a literary review.

From essay 2, I used how to organize my subheadings to be able to make my essay the best it can

be. For example, in essay 3, I organized my subheadings from the least strong to the strongest.

In addition, I learned how to argue my point with the use of different sources from essay

3, which is applicable in a multitude of courses. For instance, in Spanish, I had to write an

argumentative essay on if Antarctica needs to be saved or left it alone. With the use of essay 3, I

was able to make my essay better than most of my peers.

On the other hand, from essay 1, I could not use my own findings and opinions on essay

3. For example, in essay one, I could use my own findings and opinions because it was a

personal experiment. In essay 3, I had to stay professional and not use any findings I found and

instead had to use the peer review journals. Something I can not use from essay 2 was being able

to talk about both sides of the topic. To illustrate this, in essay 2, the prompt said to talk about

both sides of the topic to get all of the information. However, in essay 3, the topic stated to pick a

side and stick to that one side for the entirety of the essay.

Furthermore, something from essay 3 that would not be applicable to most courses would

be being able to argue my point in an essay. In most classes, the essays are only informative,

besides the few outliers. For example, in Anatomy and Physiology, the final exam is an essay in

which I need to write about a disease in the human body that I chose, but I have to keep it

informative and not express my thoughts on the disease itself. \

Nevertheless, the creation of an argument will help improve my writing by allowing me

to be able to argue my point in my essays with the use of different sources. Also, it will help me

see the different sides of a topic to be able to write the best possible essay I can. It will help me

approach writing tasks differently in the future because now I know to look at both sides of the

topic and not just one to be able to see the entire picture of the topic. This will also allow me to

see what everyone thinks about the topic and not just a small percentage of people.

In conclusion, the hardest part of this essay was having the motivation to complete it

fully. The closer the end of the semester comes, the less I want to do. I really did not have any

motivation for this essay like I did for all my other ones. This problem made it very hard to

complete the essay in time. However, the easiest part of the essay was having to argue my point

in the essay. I loved my topic, so it helped with the way I felt when I was writing the essay. As a

result, my love for the topic helped me with the hardest challenge I had for this essay.
