Vertical and Horizontal Organization

1. Vertical Organization

This is Amazon Organization Structure. From the picture above, we can conlude that
Amazon use Vertical Organization Structure. Because they have many managerial layers,
this is the main characteristic from vertical structure. Usually, a big company use this
kind of structure because they have so many employees.
2. Horizontal Organization

This is Sayurbox Organization Structure, a start-up from Indonesia. We can conclude

from the picture that they use Horizontal Organization Structure. Because they only
have 3 managerial layers, this is the main character of horizontal structure. Horizontal
Structure have fewer layers, usually two or three layers. Usually, a start-up company
use Horizontal Organization Structure. Because they’re not too many employees
there.
