 ABOUT THE COMPANY


Kafrisa Food Co provides Gourmet Catering Services. The company
provides services such as an expansive buffet setup, individual meal
trays, breakfast, packed meals, snacks and healthy salads. Kafrisa Food
Co has supplied a wide range of corporate clients with a variety of needs,
including everyday meals, boardroom meetings, special events and
conferences, and festive festivities. In addition, they have provided
catering services for several private family parties, social occasions, and
enormous outdoor gatherings. They have a catering menu that consists of
a large variety of food cuisines (regional and international) offering
customers a lot of options to select from enhancing the customer’s
experience.

1. What inspired you to become an entrepreneur and start your own
company?
Mrs. Nikhila had a flair for cooking and she has been catering to her
known circle with various dishes for small occasions. She never wanted
to do a job and that’s where the business idea for kafrisa food co came in
her mind.
2. What is your company’s core mission?
Providing end-to-end catering services and making the customer’s special
occasion all the more special by providing delicious lip-smacking food.

3. What were some early challenges you faced, and how did you overcome
them?
The major initial challenge to start her business was finance, which she
managed by raising funds from her family and friends. Further being in
the catering industry manpower and procuring raw materials are always
the persistent challenges. Nikhila and her family overcome these
obstacles by using their contacts and determination to launch their
company.

4. How has your company evolved since its inception?


She stared the business initially from her residence and gradually moved
into a rented space of 750 sqft. Today the business is operated from a
3500 sqft area with modern equipment’s to maintain the standards of food
hygiene which is a crucial aspect of catering business.

5. Can you describe your company's unique value proposition in the market?
A project of numerous cuisines with prompt delivery and client
satisfaction is the key essence and part of her business. This unique value
proposition gives them an edge over their competitors in the market.

6. What have been the key milestones or achievements for your company
thus far?
From home kitchen to a 3500 sqft area fully equipped with modern
cooking appliances, catering the needs of multinational companies such
as Pepe jeans, Indusland bank, Asianpaints and many more are some
major achievements of the company.

7. How do you stay resilient and motivated during tough times in your
entrepreneurial journey?
Her tremendous passion for food, as well as the positive feedback from
catered clients and the formation of new corporate ties, provides her with
the energy to be self-motivated in order to operate the business through
thick and thin. She also believes that having a strong support network
helps her during difficult times.

8. What role has networking and building relationships played in growing


your business?
According to Mrs. Nikhila networking played a huge part for their
business right from the company’s inception networking and building
relationships helped her to meet with new suppliers and vendors. Starting
by providing food catering services to close family and friends and now
catering multinational companies networking helped her business to grow
faster and acquire a loyal clientele.

9. How do you maintain a healthy work-life balance as an entrepreneur?


Being in the food industry, which is a 24-hour job, the notion of work-life
balance does not exist since the individual must be vigilant throughout
the journey. Even so, she occasionally takes time away from her regular
routine to go on trips with her family.

10.What strategies do you use to stay innovative and ahead of the


competition?
Advertising on social media platforms the company is establishing its
presence with the younger generation and trying to come up with new
cuisines in order to cater their palate. By using modern hygienic
containers for food packing and branding them with the company’s logo
is a strategy which she deploys.

11.What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs based on your


experiences?
Patience and commitment are very important quantities an entrepreneur
must have. According to her, in the initial phase of the business more
often than not you will make no money, at such times an entrepreneur
must be resilient and continuously work hard without being dejected.
Having in-depth knowledge about the market and conducting thorough
research is also important for developing a long lasting business. She also
signifies the importance of having financial backing in a business. Lastly,
she mentions that an entrepreneur must constantly generate and develop
new ideas and not become complacent in order to grow the business.

12.How do you foster a positive company culture and motivate your team?
She believes that engaging with the employees and appreciating them
plays a vital role in fostering positive company culture and motivating
them. For example, on Fridays, there is always a big workload, and she
ends the day by thanking each and every employee for their efforts.
Incentives and bonuses play an important role in encouraging employees.
She also takes their staff to lunch and distributes gifts during festivals.

13.What role do you believe technology plays in the future of your industry,
and how do you adapt to technological advancements?
Using new cooking equipment and contemporary cooking methods will
assist to reduce physical effort in our kitchen, making it more efficient.
Using technology will also assist us with inventory management.

14.What is the definition of success according to you?


Success according to her is all about personal fulfillment and following
one’s passion. Building long lasting relationships with clients and
satisfying their food needs by offering excellent services. She also
believes in giving back to the society, by engaging in food donation
activities etc.

15.Looking ahead, what are your long-term goals and vision for the future of
your company?
Her immediate objective is to buy the 3500 sqft land she is presently
renting. She also plans to start a new business offering 100 different
varieties of pasta. She also wants to develop her firm in Pune, Nashik,
and Gujarat, where she already has relationships and has spotted
opportunities for growth.
