Robotics & Iot Club

Robotics and IoT Club Overview:

Welcome to the Robotics and IoT Club at Aryavart Ancient Academy.
Our club offers an exciting opportunity for students from classes 5 to 10 to explore the
fascinating world of robotics and Internet of Things (IoT). Through hands-on projects,
engaging activities, and collaborative learning experiences, students will develop
essential skills in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) while
fostering creativity, innovation, and teamwork.

Club Goals:
• Introduction to Robotics and IoT: Introduce students to the concepts of robotics
and IoT, exploring their applications in real-world scenarios.
• Hands-On Learning: Provide students with hands-on experience in building and
programming robots, as well as developing IoT projects using Arduino and other
microcontrollers.
• Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Encourage students to think critically and
solve problems creatively as they tackle challenges in designing and implementing
robotics and IoT projects.
• Collaborative Projects: Foster collaboration and teamwork skills through group
projects and activities, where students work together to design, build, and test
their creations.
• Promoting STEM Education: Promote interest in STEM fields and inspire students
to pursue further studies and careers in science, technology, engineering, and
mathematics.

Club Activities:
• Weekly Sessions: Two-hour sessions held weekly, where students engage in
hands-on activities, learn new concepts, and work on projects under the guidance
of experienced mentors.
• Project-Based Learning: Students will undertake a series of projects throughout
the six-month duration of the club, applying their knowledge and skills to build
robots, create IoT devices, and conduct science experiments.
• Guest Speakers and Workshops: Inviting guest speakers from industry and
academia to share their expertise and insights, as well as organizing workshops
on specialized topics in robotics and IoT.
• Competitions and Exhibitions: Providing opportunities for students to showcase
their projects and compete in robotics competitions or exhibit their work at
science fairs and school events.
• Field Trips: Organizing field trips to robotics labs Like Science Park and
planetarium
Syllabus of the club

Month 1: Introduction to Robotics and Basic Concepts

- Understanding what robotics is and its applications in real life
- Introduction to components of a robot: sensors, actuators, microcontrollers
- Basics of electricity and electronics
- Safety precautions in working with electronic components

Month 2: Building and programming a mobility Robot

- Introduction to Arduino and its programming environment
- Building a simple mobile robot using a pre-made chassis kit
- Writing and uploading basic Arduino code for operational behaviour
- Understanding the concept of sensors and their use in robotics

Month 3: Introduction to IoT and Home Automation

- Understanding what IoT (Internet of Things) is and its significance
- Introduction to Wi-Fi modules (e.g., ESP8266) and their applications
- Building a simple IoT-based home automation project (e.g., controlling LEDs
remotely)
- Writing Arduino code for IoT applications

Month 4: Sensor-Based Projects

- Introduction to different types of sensors: light, temperature, sound, motion, etc.
- Building simple science projects using sensors (e.g., light-controlled LED,
temperature-controlled fan)
- Writing Arduino code to interface with sensors and control outputs

Month 5: Robotics Project: Obstacle Avoidance Robot

- Building a robot capable of avoiding obstacles in its path
- Understanding the concept of ultrasonic sensors and their use in robotics
- Writing Arduino code for obstacle avoidance behaviour

Month 6: Final all Project and Review

- Reviewing concepts learned throughout the course
- Working on a final project combining robotics and IoT elements (e.g., a robot that
can be controlled remotely via a smartphone app)
- Presenting final projects to the school community

Each session should include a combination of theory and hands-on practical activities
to reinforce learning. Additionally, encourage students to document their projects and
experiments in a project journal or logbook to track their progress and learning
throughout the course.
