VIPEDIA-12 Event Logger – User's Guide

1 Introduction

The VIPEDIA-12 and VIPEDIA-NET Network Card provide an event logging service. The Event Viewer
application provides a front-end interface to log and browse these events on a Windows PC.
The diagram below shows all components of the event logging service and gives an overview on how the
events are collected, stored and browsed:
• The Network Card collects the VIPEDIA-12 events (up to 200 events), and the Event Viewer logs these
events into a database (SQLite).
• The Event Viewer provides a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to configure and browse the event logging
database.

The event logging service is enabled on VIPEDIA-12/VIPEDIA-NET units using the PAVA System
Configuration Tool (PAVA SCT) and File Transfer Tool (FTT). The PC event logging database is configured
using the Event Viewer application.
This Configuration Guide describes how to configure the event logging service and to view the events using
the Event Viewer application.
This guide assumes prior knowledge of VIPEDIA-12 and Network Card configuration using ASL
configuration tools.
Notes:
1) The following software versions are required to support the event logging service:

Software/Firmware Version
VIPEDIA-12 Host CP V3.0.1.2 (or later)
VIPEDIA-NET NET-VIPA V3.0.1.33 (or later)
Applications PAVA System Configuration Tool (PAVA SCT) V3.0.1.1.P (or later)
Event Viewer V3.0.1.1 (or later)

2) At the time of the publication of this document:

a) Only VIPEDIA-12 events are logged. VIPA events such as VIPA microphone announcements are not
logged.
b) The Event Viewer can only log and display events from a single PAVA system cluster.
