YOUTH FOR JESUS PRAYER AND FASTING GUIDE

23-24 February

Five objectives of this prayer session

1. To have a heart that fears God and eschew evil

2. To be delivered from this present and wicked world
3. To be empowered to flee youthful lusts
4. To be Holy and relevant vessels ready for Godly use
5. To grow in the Word of God and to submit to our Ministers and stewards

1. TO HAVE A HEART THAT FEARS GOD AND ESCHEW EVIL

A. To have good thoughts (control evil imaginations of the heart)

B. To desist from a heart that device evil

C. Do not delight in sin and to be in the presence of sinners

D. Not to hide our sins but expose them for help

PRAYER POINTS

I. Lord help us to clean our minds from filth imagination

II. Lord forgive us from devising wicked things and from plans and schemes to commit sin
III. Lord help me to have good friends that help me to meditate on the law of the Lord and who will
correct me when I err
IV. Lord help us /me to be delighted in the law of God and to abhor evil
V. Give me a heart that hates all forms of ungodliness and desire to walk uprightly before you
2. TO BE DELIVERED FROM THIS PRESENT AND WICKED WORLD

A. The days are evil and we must walk wisely

B. We must overcome temptations

C. Let us beware of Babylon and Sodom and Gomorrah to spill into the Church of the living God

PRAYER POINTS

I. Lord forgive me /us from all filthy conversation that I have committed
II. Lord deliver me from this wicked world ( mentally, physically and spiritually)
III. Lord help me to see temptations and ‘snares’ from the devil so that I can overcome such

3. TO BE EMPOWERED TO FLEE YOUTHFUL LUSTS

A. LUST – this is an amplified, abnormal and distorted desire for sex or improper affections or sexual
activities desired by the flesh
We must never be lustful

B. Never stimulate or water lust by indulging into impure conduct

Examples are ; idle minds, obscenities on social media and other online platforms, rewinding
thoughts on past experiences, bad friendship or relationships

C. We must make a deliberate effort to flee all forms of acts or activities or books or music or videos
that leads us to sin

 PRAYER POINTS

I. Lord help me to overcome the lust of the eyes and of the flesh
II. Lord help me tom use my mind effectively ( socially, economically, academically and spiritually)
III. Lord help me to avoid evil social media content
IV. Lord help us to avoid all forms of evil and to live a holy life

4. TO BE HOLY AND RELEVANT VESSELS READY FOR GODLY USE

A. Why did God save us whilst we are still youths? Strength needed for God

B. We should be holy before the Lord

PRAYER POINTS

I. Lord forgive us for channeling our strength ( financially, physically and otherwise) to the devil
instead to you our Savior
II. Lord help me as a young man to be fruitful in the service of God and to be available to my God.

5. TO GROW IN THE WORD OF GOD AND TO SUBMIT TO OUR MINISTERS AND STEWARDS

A. What do we know so far as pertaining to the Word that was preached? We do not have time with
the Word

B. Do we obey instruction/ traditions given in the church? We resist God’s counsel and yet desire God
to help us when overcome by sin. “Dai Mwari akatibatsira” yet God has helped you already. The
power to overcome is in obedience

I. Lord give a hunger and thirst for the word and also an acknowledgement that the Word you
preached to us is our victory
II. Lord forgive me for all forms of disobedience ( on doctrine and traditions taught in the church)
III. Lord help me to submit to all my leaders in the Church
