Different future forms and explain how to use
them.
Future simple with will or won’t
• We use this to talk about spontaneous decisions, predictions, promises,
offers, requests, or threats. For example:
o I’m thirsty. I will get a glass of water.
o It will rain tomorrow, according to the weather forecast.
o I won’t tell anyone your secret. I promise.
o I will help you with your homework if you want.
o Will you please turn down the music? It’s too loud.
o If you don’t stop talking, I will send you to the principal’s office.
Future with be going to
• We use this to talk about plans or intentions, or predictions based
on evidence. For example:
o I am going to study hard for the exam. I have already made a
schedule.
o She is going to have a baby soon. She looks very pregnant.
o They are not going to come to the party. They have other
plans.
Future continuous with will be or won’t be + -ing
form.
• We use this to talk about actions that will be in progress at a
specific time in the future. For example:
o At 10 o’clock tomorrow, I will be taking a math test.
o She won’t be working next week. She is on vacation.
o What will you be doing this weekend?
Future perfect with will have or won’t have + past
participle
