Brief Description / Abstract :

The utilization of natural dyes for fabric coloring has garnered significant attention in recent years due
to growing concerns about the environmental and health impacts of synthetic dyes. Natural dyes,
derived from plant sources like onion peels, vegetable peels, marigold flowers, beetroot peels, tea
leaves, turmeric root offer a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to conventional synthetic dyes.
This project provides a comprehensive use of natural dye extraction from the indigenous plants and
their use in the in fabric coloring. Mordants are used to increase the dyeing efficacy and color retention
of natural dyes on the clothes.
